About Clarke County Criminal History

Clarke County criminal records are split among the sheriff and jail, the Circuit Clerk, municipal courts, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Alabama Department of Corrections, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry. This private reference site organizes those official routes so readers can identify the right Grove Hill office, state portal, mailing address, or telephone number with less guesswork.

Why We Built This Site

Alabama provides several paths to public information, but no single search contains every Clarke County record. The Clarke County Sheriff's Department and jail hold local reports, booking material, and custody facts. The Circuit Clerk keeps the filed charge, docket, judgment, and disposition. ALEA maintains fingerprint-supported statewide criminal history, while ADOC covers state prison custody and ALEA's registry unit publishes sex offender information. This site brings together verified contacts, official portals, known fees, and request steps for those distinct systems.

What You Will Find Here

  • Official contacts: where to call or visit the Clarke County sheriff, jail, Circuit Clerk, and state agencies
  • Record access: how to find and read criminal court case records and other public files
  • State processes: how personal fingerprint-based record review works through ALEA
  • Record relief: where Alabama expungement petitions and supporting certified records come from

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any Alabama court, sheriff's office, police department, or state agency. There are firm limits on what it can do:

  • Agency telephone numbers, fees, addresses, and procedures cannot be guaranteed to stay unchanged
  • No legal advice or case-specific interpretation is provided
  • Certified court papers, criminal histories, and other official copies cannot be issued here
  • The website cannot submit an expungement petition, public-record request, or other form for a visitor
  • It cannot retrieve a person's criminal record or perform an official background check

Only the issuing office, such as the sheriff, Circuit Clerk, municipal court, or ALEA, can supply an official criminal record. This site can identify the route, but it cannot issue the document.

Search Partners

Outside providers power search boxes that appear on some pages. Each provider controls its own service, price, results, and terms. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports free access to this reference. Clarke County Criminal History does not set partner charges or control the records a partner returns.
