This Is Not a Government Office. Clarke County Criminal History is privately operated. It cannot retrieve an official record, perform an official check, change a file, or accept an Alabama expungement petition. The record custodian must handle those services.

- Personal statewide criminal history: Alabama Law Enforcement Agency CJIS uses a fingerprint-based Form 46 review process rather than an unrestricted public name search.
- Police incident reports: contact the police department or law enforcement agency that created the report.
- Alabama expungement filings: the Circuit Clerk handles court filings; ALEA supplies the certified personal criminal history required for the process.
The sheriff does not publish a separate records-division name, email address, request portal, counter hours, or copy fee. Call 251-275-4254 before visiting or mailing a narrow request.
