1. What This Website Is
This private reference website is independent from every public office. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, performs official checks, or submits filings for a user.
Its purpose is to identify Clarke County record custodians, including the Sheriff's Department and jail in Grove Hill, the Circuit Clerk and municipal courts, ALEA's criminal-history repository, and the Alabama Sex Offender Registry. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.
2. Rules for Using This Site
Use is conditioned on an agreement not to:
- Interfere with the website or prevent another person from using it
- Deploy bots, scrapers, or other automated collection tools
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination
No one may use this website or a linked tool to stalk, threaten, intimidate, harass, or unlawfully discriminate against another person. Alabama Code Section 15-20A-8 specifically warns that Alabama Sex Offender Registry information may not be used to unlawfully injure, harass, or commit a crime against a listed person or anyone at a reported address. Civil or criminal penalties can follow. Registry access exists for safety awareness, not vigilantism or unlawful exclusion.
4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
Clarke County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and produces no consumer report, credit report, or background screening product. Its advertising partners are not presented as services for evaluating applicants, renters, credit, or insurance. Information from this website or any linked tool may not be used to:
- Make any other decision regulated by the FCRA
- Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
- Set insurance terms or judge creditworthiness
- Evaluate a housing application
- Make an employment decision
A person who needs a legally compliant report for a regulated purpose must use an authorized official channel or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider.
5. No Legal Advice
Website content is general information, not legal advice. It cannot determine how a Clarke County charge, conviction, warrant, registry duty, or Alabama expungement rule applies to one person. Obtain advice from a licensed Alabama attorney.
